FAQs

It’s normal to have questions before beginning. These are a few I hear often.

If you don’t see your question here, you’re welcome to reach out.

  • You don’t need to be in crisis to begin therapy. Many people reach out because something feels stuck, overwhelming, heavy, or unclear.

If you’re wondering whether support might help, that’s often enough reason to explore a consultation.

  • The first session is a conversation.

We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important right now. You’re not expected to tell your whole story at once. We move at a pace that feels steady and supportive.

  • No.

EMDR is available when appropriate and when sufficient preparation and nervous system support are in place. Therapy can include many approaches, and we decide together what feels aligned and helpful.

  • Yes. I work with adults (18+) located in Texas. Sessions are currently offered virtually.

  • Yes. EMDR can be done effectively online. There are several ways to adapt the process—like eye movements, tapping, or audio tones—and we’ll use what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

  • Yes. I am currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare and affiliated plans, including Optum, UMR, and Oscar.

If you have one of these plans, sessions can be billed directly through your insurance according to your benefits.

If you have a different insurance provider, sessions are currently private pay. I can provide a superbill upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement depending on your plan.

You can find the most up-to-date insurance information on the Practical Details page.

  • If you’re unsure whether your plan is part of the Blue Cross Blue Shield or UnitedHealthcare networks, you’re welcome to reach out and I’m happy to help you check.

  • That’s okay. Many people aren’t.

Part of our work is clarifying what feels supportive and meaningful for you. You don’t have to arrive with a perfectly formed plan or a plan at all.

  • You can reach out through the contact form to schedule a brief consultation. We’ll talk through what you’re looking for and see whether this feels like a good fit.
